Cookie Policy

Effective date: 6 September 2026 · replaces the version of 24 July 2026

This page explains how Praiseach uses cookies and similar storage on your device. The good news is that there's very little to explain.

The short version: Praiseach sets no cookies at all — not its own, and none from anyone else. It runs no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind. It does store things on your device, because an offline planner has to, and every one of those is necessary to give you the app you asked for. That means there is nothing to consent to, and no cookie banner.

Cookies, and the other kinds of storage

A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser and sends back to a server with each request — which is how many sites track you across the web. Praiseach sets none.

The rules that cover cookies in the UK (PECR) also cover other ways of storing things on your device, so the fact that Praiseach uses those instead doesn't let it off the hook. They are listed in full below. The reason none of them needs your consent is that each one is strictly necessary to provide a service you have actively asked for — which is the exemption in the rules, and the only one being relied on here.

What Praiseach stores on your device

WhatWhere it's keptWhy it's necessary
Tasks, schedule, goals, projects and settings IndexedDB (a local SQLite file in the phone app) This is your plan. Without it there is no app.
A small copy of the same data Local storage Lets the screen draw immediately instead of showing a blank page while the main database opens.
A copy of the app's own files Cache Storage (service worker) Makes the app work offline and load quickly.
Your theme choice, and the screen you were last on Local storage Puts you back where you were, in the appearance you chose.
Your sign-in token, if you use an account IndexedDB Keeps you signed in so you don't need a new link every visit. Never copied into the local-storage mirror, and never included in a data export.
A record that the one-time import of older data has run IndexedDB Stops the app re-importing data you have since deleted.

None of this is sent to us automatically. If you use an account, your plan is also synced to our database provider — that's described in the Privacy Policy, not here, because it isn't storage on your device.

Third parties

Praiseach loads no third-party scripts, fonts, images or embeds. There is no content delivery network, no web-font service and no social widget, so no other company is able to set storage or see your visit through this site. Our hosting provider may set strictly necessary cookies required to deliver the site securely; these are not used to track or profile you.

If you use the optional AI feature, the text you type is sent to our own server and on to Anthropic to generate your tasks. That is a request we make on your behalf, not storage on your device — see the Privacy Policy.

Why there's no cookie banner

A banner is required when a site stores or reads something on your device that isn't strictly necessary — analytics, advertising, or profiling. Praiseach does none of those. Showing a consent banner for storage that is entirely necessary would ask you to agree to something you cannot meaningfully decline, which the ICO specifically advises against. So instead of a banner, this page lists everything, and the controls below let you clear any of it.

How to control or clear it

You're always in control:

Clearing this data will remove your saved tasks and settings on that device.

Changes to this policy

If the storage Praiseach uses ever changes, this page and the date at the top change with it.
